With their 1992 RCA debut, It's About Time, the all-female trio SWV scored a string of top ten R&B hits such as "I'm so into You", "Right Here", "Downtown", "Weak", and "You're Always on my Mind". This established the trio as a commercial force early in 1993. Teddy Riley helped the group craft their sound further with the remix to the hit "Right Here" that featured samples of Michael Jackson's hit, "Human Nature", which also went #1 on the R&B charts and #2 on the POP charts. SWV gained enormous attention with their auspicious debut. Among their list of honors were 11 Billboard Music Award nominations, and nominations for a Grammy, American Music Awards and The Source Award in 1993. Additionally, they won a Children's Choice Award and a BET "Best of Video Soul" Award.
SWV's "Anything" contribution to the sound track for the movie Above the Rim became a top R&B hit in the spring of 1994. The entire soundtrack released a number of top 10 smash hits, resulting in the multi-platinum status of the soundtrack's debut. In the spring of 1994, SWV released the remix version of "Anything", which went gold.
In 1996, SWV returned with another platinum album, New Beginning, which was preceded by the number one hit "You're the One" and The Neptune's hit "Use your Heart".
In 1997, SWV released their third album Release Some Tension, which spawned several top ten hits, such as "Someone" with Sean Puffy Combs, who produced the track and who was a featured artist on "Lose My Cool", a rhythmic duet between SWV and rap artist Redman; "Rain" a trademark torch ballad written and produced by the first album collaborator, Brian Alexander Morgan; and "Can We" featuring Missy Elliot and produced by Timberland, which was also featured on the Booty Call soundtrack.
SWV has appeared on The Arsenio Hall Show, New York Undercover, and Showtime at the Apollo, and their music has been included on several movie soundtracks such as Waiting to Exhale, Have Plenty, Booty Call, and Above the Rim.
Taj, Lelee, and Coko reunited in 2005 as SWV and have been performing non-stop ever since. They have toured with Dru Hill, Salt-N-Pepa, Silk, Jon B, Kelly Price, and Carl Thomas, traveling extensively all over the world.
In 2008, SWV was also an honored guest at the BET Awards performing with Alicia Keys, En Vogue and TLC.
SWV released their fourth studio album in over 15 years titled I Missed Us in 2012, and is gearing up to release their fifth album in 2016.
SWV is one the world's top selling female R&B groups, and is indeed striving continuously to be one of the hardest working female groups in the entertainment industry today!
-THE INTERNET began as two people – Syd and Matt. Syd taught herself how to record, engineer, and
produce at age 15. She also sings, imbuing every song with a sultry, mellifluous, quiet power. Matt
produces and plays synths. She’s now 23; he’s now 26. Like all post-modern relationships, the duo
initially met on Myspace in 2008, only to meet in-person three years later.
-THE INTERNET have released two albums previously – 2011’s Purple Naked Ladies, and 2012’s Feel
-THE INTERNET branched off from the Odd Future collective and started their own band in 2011. Syd
had been writing music since she was small; she put this on hold to become OF’s DJ and producer, and
picked her songs back up in 2011 to make her first full-length album with Matt.
-When they play live, THE INTERNET is a band – a six-person outfit whose youngest member is 17. They began playing as a full-band in order to tour behind Feel Good, and the band members all contributed their talents to THE INTERNET’s 2015 album EGO DEATH.
Affectionately known as the “Real Funky Divas” with 20 million albums sold, multiple Grammy nominations, American Music Awards and Soul Train awards…celebrated as the ultimate girl group of the 90’s, who have sustained their evolving look and sound!
Today, En Vogue is redefining the idea of beauty, music and style with original members Cindy Herron-Braggs, Terry Ellis and long-standing member Rhona Bennett.
Who Is Tish?
In the last 2 years Bronx native Tish Hyman released her debut project, Dedicated To; joined forced with Jill Scott, BJ Chicago Kid, and Lil Wayne on their respective tours; played festivals that included Essence Fest & The Roots Picnic; made her acting debut in Spike Leeís latest flick, Chi-Raq; and penned records for Alicia Keys, Ty Dolla, Diddy, and Fabolous.
Tish's records have amassed over 7 million streams to date.
'Tish Hyman not only shares a striking vocal resemblance to the legendary Lauryn Hill, but [Tish's] music is based in the same reality which won Ms. Hill the adoration of millions,' proclaims VH1 in a recent article. A compliment that Tish has received more than once, but shies away from.
She is now readying to releasing her second project, The Way I Am, and has teamed up with her friends Ty Dolla $ & Dej Loaf for support on the first single, What It Feels Like, which premiered on Billboard April 7th, 2017.
'I'm making you dance this year with this project' she proclaims, speaking of the up-tempo, bass heavy, catchy hook vibe that resonates throughout 'The Way I Am.'
After a short hiatus from music, eight-time GRAMMY Award nominee Jazmine Sullivan tells her story in all its unfiltered, unabridged, and unrestrained glory on her third full-length album, Reality Show. The Philly native served as the primary writer on each of the album's twelve tracks, and for the first time, she also assumed the role of executive producer. As a result, Reality Show encompasses everything from R&B and Soul to Hip Hop, Funk, and even a little Disco. Jazmine's evolution shines throughout the album loud and clear. She has come a long way since her gold-certified 2008 full-length debut, Fearless. The record boasted the chart-topping singles "Need You Bad" and "Bust Your Windows" and achieved seven GRAMMY Award nominations. Her sophomore effort 2010's Love Me Back garnered critical acclaim as well as her eighth GRAMMY nomination for "Holding You Down (Goin' In Circles)." Along the way, Jazmine also received Billboard's "Rising Star Award" and played to sold out crowds worldwide.
